Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun presents racism, not only in the form of overt prejudice through the character of Karl Lindner, but also as a subtle underlying presence that colors all of black experience. Discuss the ways in which this more subtle form of racism is presented in the play. How does it affect the lives of the members of the Younger family? To what extent has this situation changed in the last several decades, and to what extent does it remain the same? Format Guidelines:

The essay should be paginated (show page numbers) as well. Title The title hints at the essay’s main point. Title should not be bolded or underlined.
Introduction Briefly introduce the author and summarize the play (no more than a few sentences for both) and end the introduction with a thesis that addresses the prompt. Use key words from the prompt. Essay body The body expands on your thesis with clear topic sentences that refer to your thesis.
Conclusion Brings your thesis to a coherent end
