need to rewrite as the comment from my professor: For this essay, you will write an analytical argument essay examining how the author of five approved short stories (listed below) uses some of “The Pitfalls” of critical thinking (logical fallacies and unwarranted assumptions) as rhetorical devices to develop an argument. You must specifically identify how the author uses the pitfalls as a means of characterization, and then link the pitfalls to an argument that the author is making about some specific topic. It is insufficient to simply identify and discuss the pitfalls of critical thinking. Furthermore, it is not enough to simply list the pitfalls at work in the text; you must establish a focused, arguable thesis that indicates how the pitfalls work rhetorically within the text to help the author convey the specific argument you identify. Do not overly rely on summary. You must limit your discussion to an analysis of specific pitfalls of critical thinking made by characters in the text. Examine how the author presents his characters through the use of some of the pitfalls of critical thinking to make an argument, and then find three or more examples of different pitfalls used in the story to analyze and discuss to prove your thesis statement.
