Question 1 (Chapter 1): Organizations and Organizational Effectiveness
The author notes that there are three approaches that can be used to measure organizational effectiveness. Each approach has its pros and cons. The choice of approach is driven by the nature of the firm and the environment in which it competes. In academia, “Tier One” refers to universities known for world-class research, academic excellence, an exceptional student body, and the highest levels of innovation, creativity, and scholarship. UNT recently attained Tier One status, and its colleges and schools are striving to establish prominent positions relative to their peers at other universities in this elite group. One expects that it could take up to 10 years for UNT to attain an improved “steady-state” condition. Your task: Assume that you are the Dean of the College of Business (CoB) at UNT. Based on what you have read in Chapter 1, and what you researched on CoB’s desired growth trajectory, discuss the pros and cons of each approach to assessing CoB’s effectiveness that would best support its desired growth trajectory. Then, select the approach that you believe CoB should adopt to measure its effectiveness over the next 10 years. Be sure to define key terminology used in the textbook.

Question 2A (Chapter 2): Stakeholders, Managers, and Ethics
The author makes two interesting points in Chapter 2. First, the author notes that organizations exist because of their ability to create value and acceptable outcomes for stakeholders. The two main groups of stakeholders are inside stakeholders and outside stakeholders.
Second, the author highlights the importance of creating an ethical organization that supports the interests of stakeholder groups.
Your task: Part 1. Identify the most significant inside and outside stakeholder groups for UNT’s College of Business. That is, pick one or two insider stakeholder groups, and one or two outsider stakeholder groups. You must support your choice with adequate evidence from primary or secondary sources.
Part 2. Provide recommendations for creating and sustaining an “ethical organization” environment at CoB that supports the interest of the stakeholders identified by you. Use examples of public, private, or non-profit organizations (found in primary or secondary sources) to support your contention. Question 2B (Chapter 3): Organizing in a Changing Global Environment
Anchoring his argument in Resource Dependency Theory, the author notes that for organizations to attain and sustain success, they must appropriately manage “symbiotic interdependences” that exist between themselves and their stakeholders. This could be done through formal or informal arrangements. Figure 3.3 identifies four types of arrangements that an organization can use to manage symbiotic interdependence with its stakeholders.
Your task: Consider UNT’s College of Business. Identify the type of arrangement that would work best for CoB to manage the symbiotic interdependencies that exist between it and each of the inside and outside stakeholder groups identified by you in Thread-2.

Question 2A & 2B minimum length for your reply total 250 words at least, same for Question 1, 250 words minimum, so 500 words total for all 3 questions at the minimum (more is recommended).
Be sure to number your response and all sub-parts to stay organized and ensure you do not miss answering any part, as well as cited in the text and also with a reference list after each question showing your own research (unique sources outside the textbook, a minimum of two, one per question, is required, again likely more is needed to support your response and effort level).
